Senior Design Resource (Team Lead)

Full Time: This position is ideal for an enthusiastic Senior Designer Resource (Team Lead) with an abundance of initiative wanting to establish themselves and start a career with an innovative company located on the Northern Beaches.

Summary:
The role of the Senior Design Resource is to lead the team to work with Mechanical Engineers and other Senior Designers to create project drawings and designs of metal and other fabricated products.
Extensive experience with designing products using sheet metal, timber and plastic sheets is required. This role is responsible for making supplier decisions, estimating the right materials and type of materials required to complete the job and to be a team leader and mentor for junior designers.
 
Roles and responsibilities:
● Review and interpretation of site surveys, drawings and images provided by clients
● Manage multiple tasks concurrently ensuring all are completed to the highest standards within the timeframes allocated
● Guide junior designers and provide leadership to these employees
● Experience working with Electronics/LED’s would be desirable
● Review the work of junior staff to ensure high quality
● Provide input to the development of processes and tooling/fixture design, and into the selection of equipment
● Uses measurement tools to setup equipment to ensure end products meet dimensional requirements and quality control standards
● Examines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, callipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards
● Test products for their functionality by troubleshooting products to minimise problems or recalls
● Manage team workflow and independent time management
● Delivers accurate, well presented and documented goods and services on time and in budget
● All projects are assessed and learnings for improvement shared and successes celebrated
 
Previous experience:
● Experience working with sheet metal, timber and sheet plastic products
● Experience leading a team of designers
● Excellent customer relations and interpersonal communication skills
● Excellent time management skills
● The ability to find solutions under pressure, with a sense of urgency & responsibility
● Maintain initiative and be a self-motivating individual to achieve long-term business goals
● Attention to detail is a must
● Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
● Problem solver/critical thinker who can take ownership and make decisions
● Strong communication and personable skills
● Drive and passion for design, demonstrated with a portfolio of past work would be highly desirable
● Team player, willing to get involved and assist where needed

Sales Associate

We are a highly innovative and fast-growing Industrial Design and Manufacturing company. We offer a range of services including design, manufacturing and laser cutting with a key focus on system development.

About the Role:

Supporting the Group Management team to deliver on the goals of the business from a Sales and Account Management perspective, and uphold the values and behaviours of a Black Lab Design team member.

Roles and Responsibilities:

● Achieve individual budget targets for sales

● Increase profitable revenues from new and existing accounts

● Support the team to provide clients with swift, accurate and well presented goods and services

● Work with Group leadership team to manage the business acquisition activity and identify areas for improvement and growth

● Work with Marketing Manager to qualify and secure new clients and opportunities

● Develop prospects and client relationships

● Onboard new customers

● Take project briefs from clients and prepare accurate proposals using company systems, processes and tools

● Sign off on proposals prior to release to client to secure profitable sales

● Source supplier quotations and other relevant cost data to prepare accurate and profitable proposals

● Manage opportunities through the sales cycle to close profitable sales in a timely and efficient manner

● Facilitates clear consistent communication between internal team and external clients

 

To be considered for this role you must have:

● Knowledge and adequate experience working in a sales role

● Has experience in building relationships with potential clients via cold calls, networking and other avenues

● Proven track record of sales success

● Has ability to up and cross sell to new and existing clients

● Has developed sales channels within desired client segments

● Experience in developing new sales strategies and plans

● A sound understanding of current trends and consumer requirements

● Capable of preparing client proposals to a professional standard

Sales Support Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant

Full Time: We are looking for an entry level Sales Support Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant to support our Corporate Sales team with a huge growth target.

We are looking for an entry level Sales Support Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant. Your unprecedented eye for detail and good organisational skills will support our Corporate Sales team with a huge growth target.

Basic admin experience is required, support and direction will be provided by the Sales Manager and Senior Sales team leaders.

About the role/ Responsibilities:

  • Source costs and quotations from approved suppliers and subcontractors
  • Use of costing system tools (training provided)
  • Organising and filing costings
  • Ensure customer enquiries are responded to promptly
  • Quote existing product to customer on approval by sales team leader
  • Add new customer details to CRM and keep CRM updated with customer details
  • Provide assistance with ad hoc administrative duties and/or sales support function
  • Promptly enter all sales order documentation and information into the relevant system for processing
  • Work closely with procurement and pre-production teams and provide relevant information to these teams in a timely manner
  • Proactively communicate production lead times and updates to clients when requested
  • Resolve warranty questions and issues by working with customers and pre-production and sales to coordinate a timely and constructive outcome
  • Action and close off any warranty issues
  • Produce and send quotes to customers/clients as agreed with sales team leader
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings and provide input and feedback
  • Attend major project meetings if required
  • Update templates, quotes and/or presentations for technical sales staff
  • Escalate any project issues to sales
